Rocky weekend

Had a splendid weekend with Sparky in Cowtown and surrounding countryside - I always imagined that the Rockies would be spectacular - I'd flown over them many times on the way to meetings in Calgary and seen their variously snowy bones - from the ground they are quite extraordinary.

Winter on its way

First fire of winter 2010 - thought I might resurrect this and see what happens...

More snow...

We had a couple of weeks of cool, clear weather and managed to get into the hills for some backcountry boarding and walking, but the rain has returned to Deep Cove, and the snow to the mountains above.....

We're now preparing for the onslaught of the joint birthday party this weekend - the first of many.....

Surprise snow

Weird day today, after a spell of pretty nice spring weather, we were hit with more snow - here's the view from my office window.....

Frozen sea....

We had some cold weather a few weeks back - so much so, ice started to form on the sea - my gentle afternoon kayak took on a slightly more serious feel......
